Meet your Wedding Tasker

Warm, friendly, organised and always up to the task

Hi! I’m Mel Tasker (yes, that’s actually my surname)

I’m here to help you with one of the biggest tasks you will probably ever have to deal with - finding the right vendors for your wedding day.

When planning my own wedding day, the part I found most stressful was dealing with vendors at the beginning of my wedding journey. I didn’t need a wedding planner, what I needed was a wedding assistant. Someone to help me, at the beginning, with finding the right wedding vendors.

I knew I wasn’t the only one who needed this. I couldn’t find a wedding personal assistant. So, I became one.

That was the start of Wedding Taskers.

Your wedding’s best friend

As someone who is warm, friendly, organised and always up to the task, I’m the perfect person to assist you in your wedding planning journey. Not only do I have all the skills a personal assistant needs, I’ve been through the same journey you’re going through right now. And, I absolutely LOVE weddings! I like to think that weddings love me too.

Throughout the wedding planning process, I’ll be the person by your side making the initial steps that little bit easier, and that little bit more stress-free. I’ll do all the research for you (so you don’t have to), and connect you with the right wedding vendors for your big day. The vendors that will fit within your budget and realise all your wildest wedding day dreams.

Think of me as your wedding’s best friend.

My personal wedding experience

Sometimes nothing can beat personal experiences – right? Well, here’s mine.

I’ve been bridesmaid 8 times and was starting to wonder if there was some truth in the adage ‘always a bridesmaid never a bride’. But seriously, being a bridesmaid was such an honour and blessing and of course I gained a lot of insight.

Being a friend and bridesmaid who was always heavily involved, I was a sounding board for any mishaps and miscommunication between wedding vendors and the brides and other family members. These 8 weddings included 2 within 4 weeks of each other in and one in New Zealand.

As you can imagine, I saw and heard everything and learnt what works, what doesn't, what to do next time and what to stay away from. This came in handy when it came time for my own wedding – a bride at last!

We got married 5 years ago at Subiaco Theatre Gardens in February. I had visions of a large wedding and my partner wanted a small intimate wedding. The difference was not as challenging as you may think – thanks to what was becoming a considerable amount of ‘wedding knowledge’ and good communication skills!

After listening to each other and gaining understanding of what was important to both of us and the reasons why. I worked around his wants and needs to create our dream wedding.

So, what was our wedding like?  We had a large wedding ceremony at the gardens, with 110 people. Catering consisted of 3 huge grazing tables, a cheesecake (wheels of cheese, that look like a wedding cake) and a champagne and wine caravan. We had a photo booth with all the fun props and our beautiful wedding garden even had playground so our friends’ kids were occupied during the ceremony.

Our reception was a small and intimate, 9 course degustation meal (including death by chocolate) at our best friend's restaurant in Shenton Park surrounded with the love of our nearest and dearest.

I LOVE love!

Being a bridesmaid, the days were so magical, and helping my great friends leading up to their wonderful day was a fantastic buzz.  Seeing their beautiful weddings fall into place was truly magical.

I love the wedding busy-ness, the wedding connections and that wonderful feeling of being surrounded by love – beyond anything else one can experience.

Am I the right fit to help you with your wedding day?
